7 Underrated Adidas Originals Sneakers

The Adidas Subsidiary known as Adidas Originals has made a big name when it comes to sneakers, apparel and accessories. Adidas is not just a sports performance brand. It created another symbol of the three leaved plant ‘Trefoil’ for Adidas Originals. It is a life style & each category in originals has a story to tell with a 40 years heritage. The Adidas Originals line uses the Trefoil logo and has long been associated with retro fits and styles within sport and streetwear. It has come up with a unique line of sneakers and some amazing collaborations. The brand has a distinctively retro old school feel, Adidas Originals covers sports fashion styles with references to the decades between the 1940’s and the 1980’s and in the recent years it has been given such a look which shows a perfect blend of retro ‘Originals’ approach with the modern age sneakers. There have been numerous drops and releases over the years, some sneakers have gained recognition, some have been elite since the beginning, there were a few mediocre ones too but there were also some that never got the recognition they should have and stayed majorly on the sidelines.

After seeing how good these underrated Sneakers Shoes are, many people would change their mind and start wondering why haven’t these sneakers been in the limelight. So, here are the 7 underrated adidas originals sneakers.

1. Adidas UltraBoost 4.0 ‘Triple Black’: The Adidas Ultra Boost 4.0 ‘Triple Black’, a colourway that would’ve sold out in an instant, this stealthy shoe now sits alongside other sneakers on the racks. The epitome of black-0n-black, the thicker Primeknit means that this shoe is a beast in the autumn months, and that full length Boost midsole will have the opponents eating dust on the track. Designer Ben Herath went with the boost cushioning to make it more comfortable and give it a style-eccentric look making it sporty as well as you can casually wear it.

2. Adidas Originals Consortium ZX500: Adidas continues the “Your Story” Consortium collection with a special ZX500 OG in collaboration with photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis. Adidas Consortium ZX500 by Shaniqwa Jarvis brings out the best materials in the ZX500 series. Originally dropped on July 1, 2012, Jarvis, a one time Junior Olympics prospect, found inspiration from her time training as a swimmer. Her collaboration with the ZX500 OG features a Pool Blue perforated suede upper, along with dip-dyed lace tips representing pool lane dividers.

3. Adidas Originals Superstar 80’s Snakeskin Pack: Adidas Originals slipped this three-pack of Superstar 80’s under the radar for most. Sure, they drop plenty of Superstar options throughout the year but the materials on this pack were collab worthy. On top of that, the snakeskin Three Stripes on the medial sides was a subtle change that added some extra oomph to these classics. This low-top basketball shoe that featured in an all-leather upper and the now famous rubber shelltoe is much different from the classic white sneakers. To think these went on clearance is an atrocity.

4. Adidas Originals Campus ‘Black White’: First introduced in the 1970’s as a Tournament sneaker, the Campus originated as a low-top basketball sneaker. It soon became a staple in skateboarding culture, receiving a vulcanized sole as a result. Suede is used on the toe of these campus sneakers and the rest of it has been covered with canvas. Produced by adidas Originals, the Campus sports a pigskin nubuck upper accented by serrated white Three-Stripes and complemented by a reinforced toe cap. It has mainly been in the shadow because of The Superstar and Stan Smith silhouettes but the Campus silhouette is also a very good choice given its comfort and material quality.

5. Adidas Originals NMD_R1 Primeknit ‘EQT Yellow’: I think these Adidas Sneakers are super underrated. These should have been sold out instantly just because they look like they are inspired by Pharrell NMD’s. This pair of sneakers is the primeknit version of the NMD_R1 silhouette, they use a full primeknit yellow upper with an elegant NMD font stretching from the Toecap to the tongue, just below the Adidas Originals’ logo with rope laces with the hits of 3m reflective material. It has also got the iconic Pharrell colour that has been used in the Original Pharrell Hu’s paying a tribute to the classic ones.

6. Adidas Originals Yeezy Boost 700 ‘Mauve’: To many people, the adidas Yeezy Boost 700 ‘Mauve’ is like the marmite of the sneaker world. You either love them to bits, or you hate them with a deep, burning passion. The Yeezy Boost 700 ‘Mauve’ takes on a somber color scheme that blends black and purplish grey across its signature multi-layered upper. The complex arrangement sees different varieties of mesh complemented with suede and textured leather paneling, all resting upon a tonal sculpted midsole accented with pops of neon green. Literally still sitting, these are painted in an earthy brown shade, and are constructed from leather and mesh. Sitting on top of a chunky midsole which is finished off with a tough and durable gum rubber outsole underneath. Exterior branding is limited to subtly visible Three-Stripes on it and an Adidas logo embossed on the outsole. To round off the design, bright green accents feature for a beautifully contrasted aesthetic.

7. Pharrell Williams x Adidas Solar Hu Glide ‘White’: Pharrell Williams’ collaboration with adidas led to the NMD Hu collection, a series of colourways that aim to spread a message of global peace. This sneaker is as eye catching as it gets., like an Ultra Boost on steroids, it features a Primeknit upper reminding us of the texture of the UltraBoost, tied together by a pair of stripy rope laces. The Pharrell x Solar Hu Glide ‘White’ features a white mesh upper with Bold Green accents on the plastic heel cage, red and yellow details on the eyestay, a multicolour inner lining and large black ‘Hu’ lettering on the toe box. For responsive cushioning, the sneaker sports a white Boost midsole. Overall, these underrated sneakers have better stability, maximum comfort and gives off a stunning look.

These majorly underrated pairs have been sitting on the racks of stores for a long time. Despite their amazing structure and elegant look, these sneakers have been on the sidelines. If you are looking for something out-of-the-box or for something to stand out, these would look amazing on your feet and would be a superb choice.
